Development

My journey into web design and development began working on solutions for the fashion industry, specifically for teenage brands. At that time, Macromedia Flash was hugely popular, and I started developing Flash games coded in ActionScript. This skill brought considerable attention in my hometown, and I applied this knowledge to other areas including custom websites and e-commerce platforms.

I graduated in Information Technology, and my interest in web design and development aligned with strategic product design thinking has guided my career. I've had the opportunity to work on multiple projects across a huge range of fields, including Facebook apps for the Brazilian government, mobile apps and interactive websites for multiple brands, e-commerce templates (Vtex, Shopify and WooCommerce), and WordPress websites where I spent several years creating websites and templates.

In Ireland, working at Boys and Girls, I handled web design and development for multiple advertising projects, including the Aldi Rugby website campaign, Three Mobile Christmas interactive website, and the Sound of Sixteen website—which was recognised by the Irish Design Awards in 2016. Working at Boys and Girls with a brilliant team of talented and creative people really helped me think beyond the obvious and use web design and development as a way to express brands and ideas.

Later, at Originate Studio, I worked with a group of talented graphic designers, helping translate brands into the digital world, which also included UI and UX as part of my role. Originate had multiple property development brands in their portfolio, and I was responsible for creating their digital presence. Projects included the Crown Square website, Hanover Court website, and Park development website. I also worked on a long-term project for pharma brand Optase, where I planned and developed both their company website and e-commerce platform, built on WooCommerce + WordPress.

At Kooba, one of the most recognised and award-winning agencies in Ireland, I worked as a front-end developer on multiple websites including Three Arena and Cash Carry Kitchen. Kooba follows high standards of accessibility and code best practices, and I regularly reviewed other developers' code and participated in accessibility audits. My tech stack included Visual Studio, GitHub, Bitbucket, HTML, CSS (SASS), object-oriented JavaScript.

For me, design and development were always connected and nowadays, with the growth of AI, this set of skills has become a very important asset for my current position, as a Senior Product Designer at The Access Group, creating solutions for multiple hotels and casinos around the world.
